Health & Wellness

The GC Health & Wellness Committee works to address physical and mental health at UChicago holistically from the perspective of both campus resources and climate through:

  • Identifying areas of institutional weakness on behalf of the university, as well as resources that students can better utilize

  • Providing thoughtful programming directed at addressing gaps in resources for physical and mental wellbeing

  • Encouraging a concerted effort among the student body and faculty members alike to strive towards a more caring campus culture surrounding mental health

The GC Health & Wellness Committee past projects:

Project 1: Diva Cups

The Health & Wellness Committee will be putting on an on-campus Menstrual Health event to celebrate and learn about menstrual health as a community, featuring a panel of speakers with expertise on different aspects of menstruation. In conjunction with this event, students will be able to sign up to receive free reusable menstrual products including DivaCups menstrual cups (https://divacup.com/) and Thinx period panties (https://www.shethinx.com/).

GC will also be organizing virtual training sessions to show students how to use reusable menstrual products, clean them, and make the transition from other menstrual products as seamless as possible.

Project 2: Group Therapy Sessions

Our committee is beginning programming to offer targeted group therapy sessions across a range of topics. Stay tuned for our offerings in the late fall quarter!

Project 3: Student Wellness Week
