Become a Graduate Council Representative

Dear Graduate Community,

As the year comes to a close, we invite you to consider serving as a Graduate Council Representative for the coming academic year. Representatives act as advocates for their divisions and stewards for the entire graduate community, entrusted with the concerns of their peers and the responsibility of serving a diverse body of over 10,000 graduate students.

Graduate Council Representatives bridge the gap between academic units and Graduate Council, contributing to matters of policy, programming, and community engagement. Beyond meetings and decision-making, you would help the Graduate Council foster an environment of collaboration, inclusivity, and support among graduate students, recognizing community as the heart and soul of meaningful governance.

If you are drawn to this vision of service, we sincerely encourage you to run. Your voice could help shape a more thoughtful, connected, and compassionate University of Chicago community.

Specifics on the roles, responsibilities, and expectations of Graduate Council Representatives are listed here. If you are interested, please submit your intent to run by Saturday, May 31.

Your Graduate Council Co-Presidents,

Anna Stoneman & Conner Thomas
